Australian Popular Culture on NTP 2.9.2010

This week on Never Talk Politics, Nick and I take a look at Australian Popular Culture and its place in the academic world - does it have a place in the world of academia? Are Harry Potter, Twilight and other pop culture courses on offer in places like the UK and the US testament to this? Or is it more complicated? We also question how pop culture is becoming so normalised...part of our every day lives. Is it because it's simply so popular, or is there more to it? To try and tackle these questions, we'll speak to Lecturer from the Uni of Queensland, Dr. Melissa Harper, Secretary of the UNSW Sci-Fi Society, Caroline Plank, Director of Supernova Pop Culture Expo, Daniel Zachariou and some Charles Sturt University students who talk about what pop culture means to them. Click to listen to more! We hope you enjoy another episode of Never Talk Politics! :)
