Waste vs being Wasteful on NTP 16.12.2010

This week on NTP, Nick and I take a look at waste in Australia - we're one of the highest producers of waste in the world. And although the rate of recycling has increased dramatically, it's certain that we're still a throwaway society. Nick takes a look at what works and what doesn't when it comes to waste disposal, and why the government isn't getting more involved. I take a look at ways that will enable us to live our everyday lives whilst not being wasteful. Particularly, how we can be more mindful or appreciative of our natural resources by thinking green and ecologically. To try and answer some of our questions, we have a chat with Sister Ann-Maree and Sister Patricia from the Rahamim Ecological Learning Community in Bathurst, Professor of Hazardous Waste at Deakin University, Trevor Thornton and some spokespeople from Greenpeace and the National Toxics Network about the Orica toxic chemical scandal. Click play to hear more. We hope you enjoy listening to another episode of NTP! :)
