What democracy means today on NTP 9.12.2010

This week on NTP, Nick and I take a look at what democracy means to young people today. We question whether or not the Democratic system truly serves the people and how young people are participating in our Australian democracy today - are they sticking to the traditional ways (voting, joining political parties and the like) or are they venturing into avenues of the new media political platform (Twitter, Facebook)? And are grassroots community groups effective in encouraging young people to participate in democracy too? To try and answer these questions, we'll have a chat with the Whitlam Institute Director, Eric Sidoti, Charles Sturt University Politics Lecturer, Dr. Oliver Villar and grassroots community organisation, GetUp! Spokesperson, Paul Mackay. Click 'play' to hear more! We hope you enjoy another episode of NTP! :)
