Art expression & engagement on NTP 19.8.2010
This week on Never Talk Politics, Nick and I take a look at the way young people are expressing themselves and engaging with art. We question whether young people are engaging with modern contemporary art, or is there still an interest in more traditional art forms? Together, we explore how the entire art culture is changing in the 21st century through the use of new mediums. With the bulk of funding going towards traditional art forms such as classical music and dance, is the limited support really being used in the best way? To try and answer these questions, Nick and I have a chat to the Director of the Inter-Arts Office at the Australian Council for the Arts, Andrew Donovan, Contemporary Arts Manager for the Sydney Design Festival, Lily Katakouzinos, some young performers about how they interact with art, and the Artistic Director of Shopfront, TJ Eckleburg. Click play to hear more! We hope you enjoy another episode of Never Talk Politics :)
